Great point about Clay Shirky! I wonder how the public nature of our writing is affecting our efforts toward clarity and conciseness, as Bertil mentioned in his response on Facebook.

I'm grateful that we can have these conversations, too!

What a debate now, I really liked Clay Shirky's idea that the ability to publish (including twitter, Facebook Status, etc...) is the new literacy: once only the privilege of a few and now free to all. Yes, there is a lot of noise to sort through, but there is also a magnanimous capability of expression.

I loved reading your post, Monica, and I feel this is a `conversation' we wouldn't have had without digital media.
