In September, 25 media literacy experts from academia, policy, and regulatory institutions met as part of the COST Media Literacy Task Force to discuss the current state of media literacy research and policy in Europe. Organized by Professors Sonia Livingstone and Geoffroy Patriarche, we discussed the broadening context of media literacy in light of increasing media use and fast-changing technologies. Sonia Livingstone and I describe key areas of consensus and challenge emerging from the event in our recent report Media literacy research and policy in Europe: A review of recent, current and planned activities.
For a brief overview of these findings, please see my recent post on the LSE Media Policy Project blog.
